Erlend, you're clearly following me

First of all, Norway is following me. erlend øye (Kings of Convenience, the whitest boy alive etc. etc. ...), as I learned yesterday, not only drives a Volvo (well, he does not as he doesn't have a driver's license) but also lives in Berlin. In my favourite street, the Auguststrasse! It is truly lovely. Especially since I almost saw him on my road trip, during my stay at Pia's in Bergen! Pia: "look, there's the guy from Kings of Convenience! He's from Bergen." Me (turning around): "where?" Pia: "oh, he's gone". Well well..
second thing: Berlin, movie city. They were shooting a movie directly under the office I'm working in, and just now as i cycled home, the shot another on in the beautiful Mauerpark. All looked very interesting. I wonder if it was one that I was told about yesterday, but that one is still searching for craftsmen to build the scenery.
Anyhow, still I gotta say: More on the IFA soon, I want to upload the videos of the good stuff as well, while there already are pictures on flickr (no link this time, just click on the badge.
Good night, and good luck.

IFA & Technical Museum

So we went to the IFA today, the Internationale Funkausstellung or sth. like "International Broadcast Exhibition". It is the biggest thing on consumer electronics / TV-related things going on, so there were some interesting things to see. Best thing is the section with ongoing research projects from the T-COM Research group and the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft. Pics and Vids will follow soon, but the more advanced the technology, the less conveyable: Spatial Conference Calls or Sounds are hard to be perceived by Pics and Videos. Or mixed reality interfaces - you just don't get the impression...but more soon. Gotta go jogging and upload all sorts of pictures to flickr.

summer gone

hey everyone,

gone are the sweaty days of summer it seems! Rain is happening more and more often. Mediawise these are very interesting weeks, with the "Medienwoche" and the "IFA" happening now. Lots of journalists calling in our office everyday, everyone is urgent.
I started reading again, Jeffrey Eugenides "middlesex", the hermaphrodite and his story. Interesting so far, but maybe more due to the fact that I read it in a really nice café in my neighbourhood. They started taking off the advertisment for the Deutsche Telekom from the Fernsehtower (see the pictures tagged "Alex" on flickr), which is really nice. Naaiicceeee. Meeting more and more austrialians, by the way. funny folks. And musicwise a lot is happening, Jurassic 5, Outkast, Audioslave and many other bands that I love lots have new albums out. Gotta check them all. Especially Jurassic 5 so far sounds really really good, better than the albums I got.
And Basel is returning in my head- four weeks to go till the end of my internship, four weeks till I see my flat again afer one year of being away, actually more than one year. That will be strange... Gotta finish my degree, that will be my goal for the next 1,5 years. Writing writing writing... How I'd love to work already! Already I'm collecting ideas on what to do once I'm finished. And as I do, my little brother is starting out his own voyage through university - all the best! (alright, the entry is about hungary- but a good read anyway, and it's about australians - they're everywhere!)
